Mexican Itinerary

Monday, June 30, 2008

Hey, just to let you know I've been working on a more detailed itinerary for Mexico. If you're familiar with Mexico at all, check out our calendar, and scroll through the months to January/February. From there you'll see just some of the places that we want to visit. For those of you who are unfamiliar with place names, I'll draw you a map soon of where we'll be going.

In fact, I might quickly do one now :)

Due to time/money constrictions, we'll mainly be sticking to southern Mexico, apart from a week or so in Guanajuato (and some of the older colonial cities) five or so hours north of Ciudad de Mexico (or Mexico City for you English speaking people ;) ).

A little bit about the regions:

  • Mexico City, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro - colonial cities, apparently some beautiful architecture.
  • Puebla - Nicknamed the city of Angels, it is said that in Puebla there is a chapel for every day of the year.
  • Oaxaca - famous for its food and art.
  • Zipolite - a hippie beach town, on the Pacific Coast.
  • San Cristobal de las Casas - in the Mexican highlands
  • Yucatan - beautiful coastline and Mayan ruins.

So there you have it. this is just a little reason why we're starting to get a little excited :)
