Its been about a month since we've written a blog, so thought I'd just write a quick one to let you know what's been happening.
In the last month:
- I (Marlei) quit my job at Oxfam Shop. I terribly loved working there, but recently the hours got drastically cut back, and it just wasn't worth my time doing 2 hour shifts. I now work 4 days a week at a nursing home in Box Hill packing medication and liasoning with nursing staff on behalf of the pharmacy. I had forgotten how good a weekend off really is.
- We've had meetings with real estate agents, decided on the one we like the most, and have set timelines for selling our home (looks like it will be on the market in 3 weeks, with the photographer here in two weeks)
- Lily and I found a new walking track close to our house, and on our first visit there I discovered Lily limping a little. When the limping continued, I took her to the vet to find out that her knee-caps continually slip out of their sockets, which is common to her breed. She'll need to have an operation before we go overseas, but luckily she's not in any pain yet. A few dollars later, and 6 weeks of immobility... what fun to look forward to.
- Mum and Dad came down to Melbourne last weekend, dad worked and mum and I shopped. What fun! We picked up some goodies in the foreign language bookshop, keeping us muchly occupied. It was great to see them, I am going to miss these little visits next year.
- More renovating, cleaning, and organising our house. As a type this Nyall, Elliot and Darren are recladding the side of our house, its looking good but is very time consuming (or so I am told). Photos soon, check out what it used to look like on google street view!
Have a good one,
M.xx
