It has been a busy few weeks.
- We are now relatively settled for the time being in Emerald. Nyall is loving sleeping in for an extra half hour every day, as his way to work now consists of rolling out of bed and walking 5 meters to his office. I, on the other hand, now have a 1.5 hour drive to work. To make things a little easier I have condensed my workload into 3 ten hour days, and sleep at a friend's place Monday and Tuesday nights. These living arrangements are less than ideal, but it significantly cuts down on petrol costs, and it is only for another few weeks now.
- Recently my grandfather passed away, and I made a quick trip to Queensland to attend his funeral. Although it was under unfortunate circumstances, I did enjoy catching up with family that I hadn't seen in a while, and meeting my nephew Hayden. Hayden is extremely cute, and I am really looking forward to seeing him and all of my nephews again at Christmas time.
- This weekend my friend Kathy is coming down from Canberra. I can't wait! It's always fun times with Kathy. Then on Monday I am driving back with her to see my parents in Cooma. I am really looking forward to heading over to the coast with mum, and just generally spending some time with them before I go away for the year.
- 7 weeks until we leave Melbourne town. This year has passed so quickly, it feels like we still have so much to do, yet we are also over-prepared since we've known about it for so long. Since moving to Emerald our lives have been pretty hectic, and over the next 7 weeks we are hoping we can relax a bit, and just enjoy the time that we have left.
xx.
